The leaves on the trees have just the first hint of yellow and gold, the wild flowers are still in bright bloom, and the warm summer days are just feeling the first nips of autumn, however the folks at Aspen Skiing Co. have already been hard at work planning for this winter’s ski season.

As evidence of this effort, season passes to Aspen/Snowmass went on sale Monday, August 13th. In addition to short term lift tickets, long-term tickets and the season pass Aspen/Snowmass sells to locals and Aspen/Snowmass lovers, this year Aspen Skiico has also collaborated with three other ski resorts in the Western United States to create the most exciting ski lift package in the U.S.

Ski resorts from Jackson Hole WY, Alta, UT and Squaw Valley-Alpine Meadows, CA have come together with Aspen/Snowmass to make it easier for their customers to enjoy more snow, more mountains and even more skiing adventures than ever before!

The Mountain Collective Pass allows holders two free days in all four resorts. Additionally, pass holders will receive and additional 50% on any subsequent days of skiing without limitation. Pass holders will also be giving priority in hotel accommodations and exclusive lodging deals to these four skiing locations.

During this pre-sale the price for these tickets is an astonishing $349 for adults and children 12 and younger are $229. As always, the lift ticket for skiers under the age of 6 is free, but Aspen/Snowmass asks that you still obtain a complimentary lift ticket for them. Prices will go up November 19th.

According to the Aspen/Snowmass website, this year the resort will also offer hands-free scanning to make lifts more easily accessible. An RF card will be distributed to all lift ticket holders with a fully refundable $5 deposit upon return of the card. Cards can also be reloaded throughout the ski season for those who hang onto their RF cards for future use.

Opening day for Aspen and Snowmass Mountains are November 22nd, a great way to spend Thanksgiving! Aspen Highlands will open for the season just two weeks later on December 8th, while Buttermilk will hold out to open the following week on December 15th.  Prices will vary on short-term lift tickets in the Early Season, Holiday Season, Regular Season and Late Season.

Make your plans now, book your flights and grab those special Mountain Collective Passes while they are still available. As this is the first year with such a collaborative pass, the collaborating resorts are unsure how many of these passes will sell, and how many will be available – get yours before they sell out!
